COALITION - should we be worried or hopeful?

Well, hopeful would be more helpful, I think. It's a pity how cynical some have been, but many, including myself, are excited. I think it's great that the first press conference with Nick Clegg and David Cameron was held in the garden with the birds singing in the background; that seems to augure well-----

It's heartening that these two have taken what could be seen as the risk of coming together to try and find the best way forward for the country. As for someLibDem voters feeling betrayed, what exactly did they want? Had there been a Conservative or Labour government, the LibDem policies would certainly not have been implemented, whereas now some are. It's a good thing that those who were once rivals are now co-operating in order to find some kind of middle way which could work best in the circumstances; it's pretty inspiring, in fact and shows a degree of maturity.

The fact is no-one knows if it will work or how well it will work. There is goodwill on both sides. I wish that those who have doubts keep them to themselves because voicing them not only serves no purpose, it also sends out negative energy; what this coalition, this new way of doing politics, needs is support and positive energy sent in that direction - that would increase the chances of success.
